Job Title: Brewing Support Specialist
Level: L5 (M2)
Reports To: Brewing Support Manager
This role will play a key role in achieving and ensuring delivery of quality products to the consumer across the
Manufacturing Support Hub. They will align and champion the brewing improvement programs and ensure compliance to standards.
Leadership Responsibilities:
Key role is to drive and support the West Africa Manufacturing hub people capability development agenda through CAP and to drive and support plant performance improvement through the Perfect Plant Programme PIP.
Interacts with and influences brewery HOD’s, Shift Managers, Engineers, Operations Improvement Managers and Operations Support specialists.
Top 3-5 Accountabilities:
1. Drive and support Continuous Improvement initiatives in the breweries through Perfect Plant principles using
- Operating system, Management infrastructure and mindset, capability and Behaviour
- Process Control and Performance Measurement
- 5S
- PIP process
2. Track and monitor Brewing KPI’s and lead Brewing improvement plans to deliver KPI’s
3. Drive brewery capability development using the CAP framework by:
- Supporting the development of employee P4G development plans
- Ensuring brewing have robust Training Needs Analyses for all
- Helping to develop an annual corporate Training Plan and budget
- Providing maintaining brewing Training Records Database.
- Supporting the Graduate programme for Supply
- Providing training, coaching and assessment support.
4. Make inputs and support the implementation of CAPEX and Innovation programmes
5. Develop and implement Visual Management tools for tracking of key brewing KPIs. Working with the Site Brewing team achieve Brewing Key Performance Indicators
6. Support site team in Safety leadership Journey – Act as role models, provide training materials, Regular Safety awareness interventions as required.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
Technical graduate in science or engineering with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in an operational management role in the Food or Drink or Manufacturing sector, ideally in brewing.
Competent in theory and practise of:
- Principles of Perfect Plant
- Profit Improvement Projects (PIP)
- Process Control and Performance Measurement
- The 5S System
Competent in the Principles of training and competency acquisition (CAP).
Facilitation of team based improvement activities, with general principles of effective management and supervision of skilled teams
Working knowledge of Diageo Health, Safety, and Environment policies.
Good communication and presentation skills and computer literate in Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Flexible Working options:
Site based with significant travel to the other sites within NIgeria and the West African Hub
